PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL. -- Long time USPTA member Trish Faulkner, the Director of Tennis at BallenIsles Country Club since 1994, officiated over the celebrity tennis events accompanying the Grand Opening ceremony in December 2009 for the Club's new $26 million Sports Complex.

BallenIsles invited former Ladies Wimbledon Champion, Virginia Wade and International Tennis Hall of Famer, Fred Stolle to join in the Grand Opening celebrations for the new 62,000 square foot facility.

Over 500 members attended the event which featured a cardio tennis display and a team shootout with BallenIsles members playing on teams captained by Wade and Stolle.

USPTA Florida President, Richard Centerbar, National Board member Chuck Gill and USTA Florida Vice-President, Dan Casey were on hand to celebrate with Trish and her members.

Trish, who has helped BallenIsles become a leader in the private club tennis industry, has seen two new clubhouses and many court expansions during her tenure. "With this latest expansion, a 250 seat stadium court and the world class tennis court design integrated into this new facility, BallenIsles is well positioned to host many more tournaments and special events, as well as on the other 21 courts at the club," Trish Faulkner said.

One of the first USPTA events will be a Florida USPTA Grand Prix on March 19 - 21, 2010.

Adjacent to the 22-court tennis complex complete with an exhibition tennis court and stadium seating, the new BallenIsles Sports Complex also features state-of-the-art exercise suites including a dedicated Pilates studio, aerobics and spinning studio, a full-service spa, hair and nail salon, relaxation lounges, private massage rooms, saunas, steam rooms, a pro shop, and Bistro 105, a casually elegant restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining. A tropical lagoon-style pool is being enhanced with a children's pool as part of the exterior facilities scheduled for completion this year.

Although restricted to members and their guests, BallenIsles' exceptional facilities have a distinguished history as the choice of many professional athletes for both practice and competition. These include members, Venus and Serena Williams and the Senior PGA Tour's major success story, Bruce Fleisher.
