PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. -- From computerized wellness systems, to a luxurious spa fit for royalty, to a Kinesis Wall that is the ultimate in functional training, to world class tennis court design, BallenIsles state-of-the-art Sports Complex, scheduled to formally open at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 9, 2009, heralds a new standard of wellness and fitness.

The 62,000 square foot facility which will open its doors with a Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting ceremony officiated by Palm Beach Gardens Mayor Joe Russo, is testimony to the Club's extraordinary commitment to a healthy member lifestyle.

Among high tech features that rank well beyond the equipment found in most gyms, is a revolutionary pulley system known as a Kinesis Wall that allows for seamless movement between hundreds of exercise variations for both physical therapy and functional training.
A computerized Wellness Progression System will use special USB keys to create individual workouts while transferring cardiovascular information between all fitness stations to a central computer that tracks and reports on progress.

Adjacent to a 22-court tennis complex complete with an exhibition tennis court and stadium seating, the new BallenIsles Sports Complex also features state-of-the-art exercise suites including a dedicated Pilates studio, aerobics and spinning studio, a full-service spa, hair and nail salon, relaxation lounges, private massage rooms, saunas, steam rooms, a pro shop, and Bistro 105, a casually elegant restaurant with indoor and outdoor dining.

A tropical lagoon-style pool is being enhanced with a children's pool as part of the exterior facilities scheduled for completion next year.

Wednesday's Grand Opening celebrations will feature the rousing performance of a five-piece Dixieland Band and attendance by sport celebrities, including former Ladies Wimbledon Champion, Virginia Wade and International Tennis Hall of Famer, Fred Stolle.

A "Team Wade" vs. "Team Stolle" Shoot Out at 3:15 pm on the exhibition tennis court will highlight a series of exhibition events as Wade & Stolle "coach" BallenIsles Tennis Pros.

Although restricted to members and their guests, BallenIsles' exceptional facilities have a distinguished history as the choice of many professional athletes for both practice and competition. These include members, Venus and Serena Williams and the Senior PGA Tour's major success story, Bruce Fleisher.
