Jimmy Buffet Parrot Heads Phlock to Boca Marriott

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
BOCA RATON, FL. SEPT 16,-Jimmy Buffet fans are in for a special treat September 19-20, when the singer's local fan base, known as the "Parrot Heads for the Palm Beaches" hosts its annual fundraising gala at the Boca Raton Marriott at Boca Center.

It's a two-day benefit and fundraiser for the non-profit Alzheimer's Community Care which provides specialized care to patients suffering from Alzheimer's disease and related disorders while supporting the needs of caregivers at Centers throughout the Tri-County area.

Hatched by the Parrot Heads as a "Party with a Purpose," the annual event has raised $81,000 to date and promises to be even more exhilarating this year, according to Parrot Head Kathy Hatakeyama, Co-Chair with John Harduby of "Memory Night," the gala and auction that will culminate the fundraiser.

"Our theme this year is "ONE PARTICULAR HARBOR," with different island experiences as we party with a purpose to benefit Alzheimer's Community Care. Imagine being whisked away to a series of tropical parties with a couple hundred of your closest parrot head pfrends. There'll be boat drinks to provide the right attitude, island inspired food and of course top notch entertainment," Hatakeyama said.

"Alzheimer's is a devastating disease that robs recent memories and this inspired event by the Parrot Heads is truly a memorable fundraiser for those of us serving the Alzheimer's community," James Longfield, Alzheimer's Community Care Vice President of Development said.

A Friday Night Luau will set the stage for the journey to the Islands of Polynesia, complete with Hoo Loo drinks, a Fire Knife dancer, Tahitian and Hawaiian Wahines performing to the music of "Uncle Charlie Kaleialoha Smith and Company," the best "ONO" Hawaiian Band. A Poolside Party on Saturday will create an "Islands of Caribbean" experience with "Island Heat," billed as SunFest's favorite band performing reggae music and leading up to the evening's main event, "MEMORY NIGHT GALA & AUCTION." Items on the Auction Block include airline tickets, dolphin swims, hotel packages, golf foursomes, restaurant dining and Disney tickets.

The gala will create a Margaritaville experience with Gary Roland and the Landsharks, former house band for Margaritaville in Orlando performing perfect covers of favorite Buffet Songs.

Ticket prices are $50 in advance for Friday only, $67 in advance for Saturday only, and $105 in advance for both nights.  Capacity is limited and registration forms are available at www.palmbeachparrotheads.com. For more information call (561) 683-2700
