NewsMark Public Relations Kicks Off Year in High Fashion
NEW YORK, NY -- NewsMark Public Relations www.NewsMarkPR.com announced today that it has been retained by
fashion icon Stephen Burrows for broadcast public relations.
"We're huge fans of Stephen Burrows and are flattered to be tasked with
publicizing his luxurious style on the high fashion runway to national
television audiences," said Mark Hopkinson, CEO, NewsMark Public
Relations.
"Stephen's no stranger to the limelight having been recognized by the
American Fashion Industry with a star on New York City's Fashion Walk of Fame but we do think that his distinguished career in fashion which includes three American Fashion Critics' Annual Coty Awards is perfect for Prime Time,"
Hopkinson added.
Working from his signature palate of vibrant colors, Stephen Burrows'
approach to cut and modern silhouettes has kept him on the forefront of
fashion and style with clothes that skim the body, enhance the curves, and
flow with rhythmic movement.
Stephen Burrows is also famous for the "lettuce edge" that is his
signature hem, his extraordinary use of color in ways never before seen on the
runway, and for creating many garments worn by Cher, Diana Ross, Lauren
Bacall, Liza Minnelli, Jerry Hall, Lauren Hutton, and Barbara Streisand in the
'70s.
More recently Oprah Winfrey graced the cover of her 'O' Magazine wearing a
Burrows signature "red" colored wrap merino wool dress, Naomi Watts donned a slinky black and white Burrows gown to the premiere of 'I Heart Huckabees,' while Kim Cattrall showcased many Burrows pieces during her role as Samantha on the hit television series "Sex in the City." Vanessa L. Williams was perfection in "Into the Woods," wearing a Stephen Burrows dress that he designed for her Broadway premiere.
The first African American fashion designer to achieve national and
international fame among the fashion elite, Stephen Burrows Spring-Summer
Collection 2005, an explosion of bright to hot colors, with prints on silk
jersey and silk pebble chiffon, along with the designer's trademark fabric
Jasco matte jersey, is available at stores worldwide including Sum in Moscow;
Henri Bendel, NYC; Mayda Cisneros in Coral Gables, Florida; Roz & Shem,
