Palm Beach Gardens-based NewsMark Public Relations said it will guide national media outreach for a referral system for doctors to computerize their records.
NewsMark did not give a value for the contract.
Launched by orthopedic surgeon Eric S. Fishman, NewsMark said the Physician's Portal of EMRConsultant.com is free to doctors. The product, the firm added, helps the medical workers choose among the many electronic medical record (EMR) and electronic health record (EHR) solutions on the market.
"We provide objective recommendations within 24 hours at no cost to doctors, and while we can receive referral fees from some software vendors, those fees have no impact on which vendors are ultimately recommended," Fishman said.
NewsMark Chief Executive Officer Mark Hopkinson said more than nine out of 10 of the nation's health care transactions still, reportedly, occur on the phone or through an exchange of paper.
"EMRConsultant.com is very well positioned to help in the battle to cut the nation's $1.6 trillion-a-year health care bill," he said.
